Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: June 2026

Welcome to PML Prints! These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website, pmlprints.com, and outline the rules for purchasing standard products or commissioning custom 3D printing work from us. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Identity of the Trader

This website is operated by PML Prints ("we", "us", or "our"). We are an independent 3D printing design and production studio based in London, UK. If you have any questions or need to contact us regarding an order, please use our website contact form.

2. Contract Information

  • Standard Orders: A legally binding contract is formed between us only when we send you an email dispatch confirmation. We reserve the right to decline any order (for example, due to pricing errors or stock unavailability), in which case a full refund will be issued immediately.

  • Custom Orders: For bespoke, personalized, or custom commissions, a contract is formed when you accept our formal price quote and pay the initial deposit.

3. Intellectual Property & Design Ownership

  • Our Designs: All digital files, 3D mesh geometry, CAD files, product photography, and website content created by PML Prints are our exclusive intellectual property.

  • Custom Commissions: Unless explicitly agreed upon in writing ahead of time, PML Prints retains ownership of all technical engineering files and CAD models created during a custom project. The client is purchasing the physical, 3D-printed end product, not the digital file or reproduction rights.

  • Production Authenticity: We are committed to genuine human craftsmanship. PML Prints does not utilize generative AI tools to design, sculpt, 3D model, or manufacture our final products.

  • Original & Licensed Designs: The items in our shop are either digitally modeled from scratch by us, or officially licensed from independent human artists. We do not knowingly license or sell any commercial models created by generative AI.

4. Custom Commissions & Payment Structure

  • Consultation & Deposit: We offer a free initial consultation to discuss the feasibility, specifications, and estimated valuation of your custom commission. Following this, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required before any digital modeling, technical engineering, or CAD work begins.

  • Explicit Consent to Start Work: By approving the initial project brief and paying the 50% deposit, you expressly request that we begin our design and technical work immediately. You acknowledge and agree that any statutory right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations will be lost once design or production has begun.

  • Approval Process: Once design work begins, production of the physical 3D print will only start after the client explicitly approves the initial digital design and final specifications.

  • No Cancellation on Custom Items: In accordance with the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, orders for personalized, custom-made, or bespoke items cannot be cancelled or refunded once the deposit is paid and work has commenced, unless they arrive damaged or structurally faulty.

  • Final Balance: The remaining 50% balance must be paid in full upon project completion. Custom items will not be dispatched, shipped, or hand-delivered until this final balance has cleared. If a customer fails to pay the final balance within 30 days of project completion, we reserve the right to retain the deposit and dismantle or resell the physical items.

5. Pricing and Payment

  • Payment Processing: Payment for all standard, off-the-shelf items is processed securely in full at checkout.

6. Shipping, Delivery, and Delays

  • Domestic Shipping Only: PML Prints ships exclusively to addresses within the United Kingdom. We do not offer international shipping at this time, and any orders placed with a delivery address outside of the UK will be cancelled and refunded in full.

  • Baseline Service: We default to shipping our packages using Royal Mail Tracked 48 to ensure transparency and reliable tracking updates.

  • Shipping Threshold: Standard delivery is free for all orders of £25 or more. For orders under £25, a standard shipping fee will be calculated and clearly displayed before payment at checkout.

  • Delivery Estimates: Delivery timeframes are estimates provided by the courier. While we dispatch items promptly, PML Prints is not liable for structural courier delays or disruptions.

7. Returns, Cancellations, and Refunds

  • Standard Goods (Change of Mind): This 14-day change-of-mind right comes from the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 for distance sales. You have 14 days from the date of delivery to change your mind and notify us that you wish to return a standard, off-the-shelf stock item for a full refund, including our original standard delivery cost. If 14 days have passed since your order was delivered, we cannot offer you a refund or exchange, and the sale is considered final.

  • Return Conditions & Costs: To be eligible for a change-of-mind refund, standard items must be returned unused and in their original packaging. The customer is responsible for covering the return shipping costs. We recommend using a tracked service, as PML Prints cannot issue a refund for items lost or damaged on their way back to us. Please note that we reserve the right to deduct an amount from your refund if the value of the goods has been diminished by handling them beyond what is necessary to inspect them.

  • Custom & Bespoke Goods Exclusions: This exemption is permitted under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 for goods made to a consumer’s specification. Personalized, custom-made, or bespoke 3D prints are strictly excluded from the 14-day change-of-mind return policy and cannot be returned under any circumstances if you simply change your mind once digital design work or physical production has started.

  • Faulty & Damaged Items: All items—including custom work—are fully protected under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if they arrive defective. If any item is structurally faulty or damaged upon arrival, you are entitled to a full refund, repair, or replacement within 30 days of delivery, and PML Prints will cover the return shipping costs.

8. Faulty Goods & Statutory Rights

  • Consumer Rights Act 2015: Nothing within these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK law. If any item arrives structurally faulty, defective, or significantly not as described, you are entitled to a full refund, repair, or replacement within 30 days of delivery.

  • Transit Damage: In the rare event that a package is lost or arrives structurally damaged in transit, please contact us immediately with photographic proof so we can initiate a courier claim and arrange a replacement or solution. While a continuous video clip of the package being unboxed is highly appreciated to help us challenge the courier, we will always assess claims fairly and in line with your statutory rights if alternative evidence is provided.

  • Product Safety & Age Restrictions: Unless explicitly labeled otherwise, all items produced by PML Prints are intended strictly as decorative ornaments, functional art, or adult collectables. They are not toys and are not certified safe for children. Due to the nature of FDM 3D printing, items may contain small parts or layer-bonded sections that could pose a choking hazard if broken or handled roughly. PML Prints accepts no liability for misuse of products outside of their intended decorative purpose.

  • Characteristics of 3D Printing: All our items are individually manufactured using Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printing technology. Please note that minor cosmetic variations (such as visible layer lines, tiny surface zits, or layer seams) are normal, inherent characteristics of FDM additive manufacturing. These are aesthetic variations and are not considered manufacturing faults or structural defects.
